1-2-1 Core Support online or in person
a 6 session 1-2-1 package focused on improving back comfort and learning to move with ease by increasing core strength and stability
Available online or in person in central Edinburgh
This package could be of benefit to you if you experience symptoms such as groin, lower or mid back pain, sacroiliac discomfort or sciatica, one sided tension or pain in the lower or mid back.
If you are pregnant and experiencing any of this above and/or tightness in breath, upset stomachs, constipation and want to learn techniques to support your changing body and prepare for labour.
This offering has been borne out of my experience of chronic back and hip pain over the past years and my experiments to alleviate it. I have focused much of my own practice on balancing a deep abdominal muscle called the psoas (or the iliopsoas muscle complex). I believe that due to our increasingly sedentary lives, many of us experience a chronically tight psoas with related structural imbalances and can benefit greatly from exploring this primary core muscle.
These imbalances can lead to, among other things, symptoms such as groin, lower or mid back pain, sacroiliac discomfort or sciatica, one sided tension or pain in the lower or mid back.
The psoas is also a very important consideration during pregnancy, and can be associated with discomforts such as tightness in breath, upset stomachs, constipation, tight psoas keep the baby high and effects fetal engagement and descent.
Much of this work has been informed by my study of Donna Farhi & Leila Stuart’s Pathways to a Centred Body, as well as ongoing study with Lisa Peterson, alongside my own recovery from chronic pain.
